(1947) UN calls for Palestine to be split between Arabs and Jews

The United Nations Partition Plan for Palestine was a proposal by the United Nations, which recommended a partition of Mandatory Palestine at the end of the British Mandate. On 29 November 1947, the UN General Assembly adopted the Plan as Resolution 181(II).

(1961) Enos the chimp is launched in space and orbits Earth
Having completed 1,250 hours of training, Enos takes off from Cape Canaveral aboard the Mercury-Atlas 5, becoming the first chimp to successfully orbit the Earth. He’ll take two spins around the globe before splashing down near Bermuda. On the rescue boat, Enos will jump for joy and shake hands with his rescuers.. 1961

Enos was the second chimpanzee launched into space and the first chimpanzee to achieve Earth orbit. Enos was brought from the Miami Rare Bird Farm on April 3, 1960. He completed more than 1,250 training hours at the University of Kentucky and Holloman Air Force Base. Training was more intense for him than for his predecessor Ham, because Enos was exposed to weightlessness and higher gs for longer periods of time. His training included psychomotor instruction and aircraft flights.

(1963) Canadian plane crash brings calls for “black boxes” on flights
1963 Shortly after takeoff, Trans-Canada Air Lines Flight 831 plummets into a field near Montreal, killing all 118 people aboard. The DC8 lacks a flight data recorder, which will complicate finding the precise cause of the crash, spurring the push for “black boxes” to be on all Canadian commercial flights..

Trans-Canada Air Lines Flight 831 was a flight from Montréal–Dorval Airport to Toronto International Airport on November 29, 1963. The aircraft was a four-engine Douglas DC-8-54CF airliner, registered CF-TJN. About five minutes after takeoff in poor weather, the jet crashed about 20 miles north of Montreal, near Ste-Thérèse-de-Blainville, Quebec, Canada, killing all 118 people on board: 111 passengers and 7 crew members. The crash was the deadliest in Canadian history at that time, and is, as of 2016, the third-deadliest in Canada behind Swissair Flight 111 and Arrow Air Flight 1285. It was also the worst crash of DC-8 at the time, and, as of 2016, the sixth worst.

Facebook i have made a personal choice after their "name policy" witch hunt which repeats every 2 years it seems at the whim of the "bully mob" (even when they make you jump through hoops and verify you), to just quit it and be done with it, they are not worth my time. I don't need it, I don't miss it, in fact it has made my life more productive and void of gross hate, vitriol and drivel. To those who say they can't stay in touch if I am not on there, if you can't reach me because I am not on Facebook, then you are not trying AT ALL - therefore, good riddance.
