(1991) Canadian crew puts out the last of Kuwait oil field fires
1991 Over 600 Kuwait oil field fires had been burning for months, and they’ll rank as one of the worst environmental disasters in history. Saddam Hussein had his troops set the wells alight as US coalition forces forced the Iraqis out of the country. .

he Kuwaiti oil fires were caused by Iraqi military forces setting fire to a reported 605 to 732 oil wells along with an unspecified number of oil filled low-lying areas, such as oil lakes and fire trenches, as part of a scorched earth policy while retreating from Kuwait in 1991 due to the advances of Coalition military forces in the Persian Gulf War. The fires were started in January and February 1991, and the first well fires were extinguished in early April 1991, with the last well capped on November 6, 1991.

(1996) Cleveland Browns football team is moving to Baltimore
Hearts break in Ohio as Browns owner Art Modell reveals he’s taking his NFL team elsewhere. Local voters fund stadium upgrades, but it’s not enough. In a deal, Modell will agree to leave the name ‘Browns’ behind. The Baltimore Ravens are born.. 1996

The Cleveland Browns relocation controversy, sometimes referred to by fans as “The Move”, was the decision by then-Browns owner Art Modell to move the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League from its long-time home of Cleveland to Baltimore during the 1995 NFL season. Subsequent legal actions by the city of Cleveland and Browns season ticket holders led to a compromise that saw the Browns history, records, and intellectual property remain in Cleveland, while Modell was permitted to move to Baltimore and establish the Baltimore Ravens, who are officially regarded as a 1996 expansion team. The city of Cleveland agreed to demolish Cleveland Stadium and build a new stadium on the same site, and the NFL agreed to reactivate the Browns by the 1999 season through either an expansion draft or a relocated franchise. The Browns were officially reactivated in 1998 through the expansion process and resumed play in 1999.

Facebook i have made a personal choice after their "name policy" witch hunt which repeats every 2 years it seems at the whim of the "bully mob" (even when they make you jump through hoops and verify you), to just quit it and be done with it, they are not worth my time. I don't need it, I don't miss it, in fact it has made my life more productive and void of gross hate, vitriol and drivel. To those who say they can't stay in touch if I am not on there, if you can't reach me because I am not on Facebook, then you are not trying AT ALL - therefore, good riddance.
