Fresh and salt waters mix near L'Estartit, Spain

The fresh waters of the Ter River empty into the brine of the Mediterranean on the northeast coast of Spain. And up on the shore, the resort town L’Estartit lets visitors take in the sights of the estuary where the waters meet, the beaches nearby, and the Montgrí Massif farther inland.


L’Estartit is a small town and seaside resort on the Costa Brava, on the north-eastern coast of Spain. The town is situated between the foothills of the Montgrí Massif and the Mediterranean Sea, and is part of the municipality of Torroella de Montgrí, in the Baix Empordà county, Girona province, autonomous community of Catalonia.
