Year of 2017

Earth seen from space

Earth Day turns 47 this year, and the theme for the 2017 celebration is ‘environmental and climate literacy.’ Part of that literacy includes understanding how humans fit into the global ecosystem, and how we can use our position and intelligence to help keep the Earth healthy. After all, we only have one Earth, so it’s in our best interest to take good care of our home.

Earth, otherwise known as the World, or the Globe, is the third planet from the Sun and the only object in the Universe known to harbor life. It is the densest planet in the Solar System and the largest of the four terrestrial planets.
