I consider myself a very open minded person and have the education, desire and intelligence to consider things beyond the actual (aka the known). However, even I don’t know; but I am hopeful based on the belief that –
- If we are the only life in the universe, that’s an awful waste of infinite space.
- If we believe that we are the result of intelligent design, be it god or whatnot, then why would he/she/it have created just US. If it is truly just US, then it gives weight to the theory that we were created out of a big bang of dust and atoms and the rest is just nature taking its course. It would also suggest there is no life after this one and its a one off event. But if we acknowledge that “god” did create us and there is a design/plan for us, then wouldn’t we have to acknowledge that he could have done it for more than just US?
Now I usually stop there personally. But to be fair to other views, let’s consider my thoughts in #2.
Here we took its philosophically a bit further, let us know where you land on the subject.
